Illustration for the novel with the same name. The focus was on capturing the swampy atmosphere of the setting. I really wanted to practice painting backgrounds and foliage and I felt that this setting was very fitting. I struggled a bit but learned a lot and largely lost my fear of backgrounds. I mostly used a standard flat brush but also tried a few foliage brushes.
